JD/MELP in Environmental Law

Saint Michael鈥檚 College students will be admitted into Vermont Law School鈥檚 Juris Doctor (JD), Master of Environmental Law and Policy (MELP), or Joint JD/MELP degree programs if they meet the following entrance requirements:

  • Successfully complete all requirements for Saint Michael鈥檚 bachelor鈥檚 degree program;
  • Complete a minimum of 60 credits towards the bachelor鈥檚 degree in residence at Saint Michael鈥檚 College with a grade point average calculated by the LSAC Credential Assembly Service (LSDAS) as the applicant鈥檚 cumulative undergraduate grade point average that is equal to or exceeds the average grade point average of the first-year JD or MELP class in residence at Vermont Law School at the time of the Saint Michael鈥檚 student鈥檚 application to VLS;
    have a current LSAT score (dated less than four years from the first semester of enrollment at Vermont Law School) that is equal to or exceeds the average LSAT score of the first-year JD class in residence at Vermont Law School at the time of the Saint Michael鈥檚 student鈥檚 application to VLS. An equivalent GRE score is accepted for MELP applicants;
    present two positive letters from Saint Michael鈥檚 faculty, recommending admission to Vermont Law School;
  • Have no evidence in any college file, (Saint Michael鈥檚 or other schools they have attended) of character or fitness concerns that would generally disqualify them from admission into Vermont Law School.
