New program beginning Fall 2026

Saint Michael鈥檚 College is updating its academic offerings to better align with evolving workforce needs and to聽enhance resource efficiency at St. Mike鈥檚.聽These changes聽will聽strengthen聽the聽interdisciplinary learning聽and聽societal engagement聽already inherent in聽a Saint聽Michael鈥檚 education聽while staying true to our liberal arts聽vision and聽mission.

The new Nutrition major will prepare students for careers and graduate study in nutrition and allied fields. Through this major, students will gain important skills in reading and evaluating scientific literature, communication, and a solid foundation in nutrition sciences through a combination of courses taught on campus and online through the RIZE program. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics projects steady growth in employment in this sector from 2023-2033 as awareness of nutrition鈥檚 role in treating diet-related diseases and preventive care grows.
