Saint Michael鈥檚 College receives $1 million gift to launch new scholarship initiative

Saint Michael鈥檚 College听recently听received a $1 million gift from an anonymous donor to launch a special current-use scholarship initiative designed to make tuition more affordable for students and their families.听

This transformative gift directly supports the College鈥檚 expanded financial aid initiatives, which were recently introduced to increase access and affordability.

鈥淭his extraordinary act of generosity reflects the deep commitment of our community to ensuring that a Saint Michael鈥檚 education remains within reach,鈥 said Richard Plumb, President of Saint Michael鈥檚 College. 鈥淎t a time when families face increasing financial pressures, this gift empowers us to expand opportunity, strengthen our mission, and continue providing an exceptional, values-driven education to students who will go on to make meaningful contributions to the world.鈥

The initial $1 million contribution has already inspired an outpouring of additional support.

鈥淭his gift has already generated another $3 million in donations from former and current trustees, alumni, and friends of the College,鈥 said Ellen Kane, Vice President for Advancement and Communications. 鈥淭his is in addition to our general Saint Michael鈥檚 Fund annual appeal, which has been increasing over the last two years and also helps reduce the cost of tuition.鈥
