Louise Stafford ’72 greets former Dean of Students from her student days (and Saint Michael’s Fire and Rescue Founder) Don “Pappy” Sutton at an event on campus.

In his own words through his obituary, Sutton said, 鈥淭hank you, God, for allowing me to walk this earth for so many years. I have been so richly blessed and have lived the best life possible. You gave me special gifts, my wife Rose Marie and daughter Joy, and then you made a place for us at Saint Michael鈥檚 College to call home.鈥�

He added, 鈥淚t is time for me to continue my journey and move on to my next job. Please, if you feel like doing something in my memory, think of the charity or program in your area that you are passionate about and donate your time or money. My very special place, Camp Ta Kum Ta in South Hero, VT, where there is only happiness for the children until there is no cancer, will accept donations that will be set aside for the maintenance of the chapel. What would be of most importance would be to take action and do good by helping others in your lifetime.
