Current job title and employer and briefly describe what it is you do: I am a Legislative Aide for Massachusetts State Representative Jerry Parisella, who happens to represents my hometown! As a Legislative Aide, I help to serve as the liaison between the constituents that we represent and various state agencies. I also advise Rep. Parisella on pending legislation and how constituents would like him to act on it.

Academic experience at 少女福利 help prepare you for your career: Thanks to the liberal studies curriculum that is at Saint Michael鈥檚 I could not have been more prepared for my career. By being able to take a variety of classes in differing fields, I was able to develop a well-rounded education that has helped to improve my view of the world and give me a new perspective on some of the most pressing issues in our society.

Favorite memory or class from your time studying at St. Mike鈥檚: Without question, my favorite class at Saint Mike鈥檚 was the Canadian Politics class taught by Professor Ayres. As a political science major, I was able to get an in-depth look at a different system of government than the US. In addition to the class, we also took a trip to Ottawa where we were able to get a firsthand look at a Parliamentary system of government and talk with Canadian MP鈥檚 about the differences between the US and Canadian governments.

Translated your volunteer experience at Saint Michael鈥檚 into giving back to your community after graduation: One of the main aspects of my position as a legislative aide is regularly attending events in the district Rep. Parisella represents where I am able to meet with non-profit leaders and see the work that these groups are doing to help improve our district. Through them, I am able to get involved in community projects and do what I can to make an impact in my community.

Other information you would like to share or advice for incoming or current students: The time that you spend at Saint Michael鈥檚 College will be a time of immense personal and academic growth in your life. For me, I met friends for life, broadened my knowledge in a variety of different subject areas, and was able to be given the tools to become the person I am today. I would not trade my time at Saint Michael鈥檚 for anything and I hope that you cherish the time you have at Saint Mike鈥檚 because it goes by so quickly!
