Michael P. Berardino, 73, of Katonah, NY, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 2, 2025.
Mike was born on February 4, 1952, in Belle Harbor, NY, to proud parents Gloria A. (Gerace) and Joseph J. Berardino. He was raised in Garden City, NY, and graduated from Garden City High School in 1969. Mike, affectionately known as 鈥淏ear鈥, went on to earn his degree from St. Michael鈥檚 College (SMC) in Colchester, Vermont, in 1973. He was thrilled to attend his 50th SMC reunion in 2023 and proudly became a Golden Knight, following in his father鈥檚 footsteps as an SMC Golden Knight 鈥43.
Mike was a State Farm agent in Katonah, NY from 1982 to 2022 and truly, he was everyone鈥檚 鈥淕ood Neighbor鈥.
Mike loved his family. He was the devoted husband of Barbara (Arndt) for 40 years, a loving father to Samantha and Michael, and a cherished 鈥淕reenPa鈥 to Verina and a “Pop Pop” to Si鈥檙e.
Mike will be forever remembered by his siblings and in-laws: Joseph (Gail), Peter (Joni),聽Ken Arndt (fianc茅 Lisa Barner), Mary Anne (Ed), and John (Regina). He was an incredible uncle to Andrea, Genevieve, Allison,聽Jason, John, Edward, Justin,聽Dylan, Timothy, Elaine, Mary,聽Bohden, Sophia, and to many devoted cousins.
He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Gloria,聽his in-laws Elmer and Agnes, his nephew Dominic, and many beloved aunts and uncles.
A lifelong sports fan, Mike especially loved the Jets, Mets and Knicks. A season ticket holder for many years with the Jets, he often reminisced about January 12, 1969, when they won the Super Bowl鈥攁nd the day after, when he skipped school and went to meet the Super Bowl Champions at LaGuardia Airport. The Mets’ World Series win later that same year and the Knicks鈥 NBA Championship the following spring remained some of his favorite sports memories.
Mike was known for his loyalty, kindness, humor, generosity, and unwavering devotion to his community. He touched many lives and will be deeply missed.
