An event honoring the legacy of Vermont’s own Bobby Hackney in conversation with Edwin Owusu of Ghanaian heritage and MediSun of Caribbean heritage. The conversation brings together three musical migration narratives beginning with Detroit and ‘A Band Called Death’ and a migration to Vermont that gave birth to the Reggae band Lambsbread. Bobby Hackney mentored Edwin Owusu who’s known in Hip Hop circles as MC SINNN. MediSun comes to us from a Caribbean community in Boston\, Massachusetts as a son of the Afro-Caribbean Diaspora. Each brings their expertise by way of musical traditions ranging from Metal to Hip Hop to Reggae. \nJoin us as we have a conversation about how equity and justice show up in the lived experiences and artistic expression of three phenomenal artists\, as we honor the elder\, Bobby Hackney. \nRegister to join online URL:/event/ej-inna-reggae-style-arts-activism-and-authentic-voice-intergenerational-conversation-with-bobby-hackney-edwin-owusu-and-medisun/ LOCATION:Recital Hall\, McCarthy Arts Center CATEGORIES:Institute for Equity and Justice END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
