MediSun will present a lecture on the history of Reggae and Rastafari. The lecture and conversation to follow will provide a foundational understanding of how equity and justice show up in the lived experiences of Jamaican 鈥� and Caribbean- people. He explains how reggae music and performance are an expression of the struggles of 鈥榯he people鈥� over generations. MediSun takes the audience on an intellectual and academic journey from 鈥榝olk music鈥� to Ska to Rock Steady to Reggae providing insight into how the music is born out of the struggle of Ethiopians who were taken to the West.
