The Ethics, Philosophy, and Religion major at Saint Michael’s invites students to explore humanity鈥檚 most enduring questions, study the wisdom of ancient and contemporary philosophers, and engage with religious beliefs and practices from across the globe. Whether students choose to concentrate in ethics, philosophy, or religion, or to chart an independent path, they are supported in developing their capacities for ethical engagement, critical analysis, reasoned dialogue, and cultural and religious understanding. Opportunities for advanced research, public presentations, and community-engaged learning ensure that graduates emerge prepared for meaningful careers in education, law, politics, research, ministry, and non-profit leadership, among others.

Saint Michael鈥檚 College is updating its academic offerings to better align with evolving workforce needs and to聽enhance resource efficiency at St. Mike鈥檚.聽These changes聽will聽strengthen聽the聽interdisciplinary learning聽and聽societal engagement聽already inherent in聽a Saint聽Michael鈥檚 education聽while staying true to our liberal arts聽vision and聽mission.
In Fall 2026, this major combine and replace the exising programs Philosophy and Ethics and Religious Studies for incoming students. More information about the curriculum will be shared soon.
