This summer, 15 students from Saint Michael鈥檚 College will complete an eight-week internship in either Seoul, South Korea, or Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam 鈥� an experience supported by an annual grant from the Freeman Foundation.聽

St. Mike鈥檚 is one of only 33 colleges or universities in the U.S. that receives this competitive grant annually.聽

Jeffrey Ayres, Director of the Institute for Global Engagement and Professor of Political Science and International Relations, said that the Freeman Foundation works to build intercultural understanding between Asia and the U.S. His hope is that these internships demonstrate St. Mike鈥檚 dedication to promoting global engagement.聽

鈥淚t鈥檚 considered a real flagship program for the college,鈥� Ayres has said. 鈥淢y dream is that more prospective students look to Saint Michael鈥檚 as an institution that provides global experiences.鈥�
